Yoga With Madhu
Hello and welcome, Yoga with Madhu started in Durham, NC. I’m Madhu; I am a Certified Integral Yoga Teacher from Swami Satchidananda Institute in Yogaville, VA.
Integral yoga is a gentle, Hatha Practice and is so-called because it seeks to integrate the mind, body, and spirit. It gives students the tools they need to live a peaceful, healthy, joyful, and useful life.
I have specialized training and certification from Yogaville in powerful, safe, and proven methods for reversing and avoiding osteoporosis and osteopenia. These Yoga asanas can help to build and maintain strong and healthy bones.
A 10-year study by Dr. Loren Fishman demonstrated an increase in bone mineral density and improved bone quality with regular practice of 12 Yoga Poses. These yoga asanas also improve your balance, posture, strength, range of motion, and coordination, greatly reducing fractures’ risk.
Yoga with Madhu started in Durham NC, during the pandemic months in early April. Since then I have been sharing my yoga experiences with family, friends, and neighbors to help them relax and deal with various stresses of life.
Our yoga classes are offered in Durham NC and online. They include Asanas (Poses), Pranayama, breathing practices, guided deep relaxation, and meditation.
I offer private lessons designed according to your needs.
Group lessons are for beginners and intermediate levels.
Each lesson is an hour-long via Zoom.

The yoga classes are moderately paced to gently tone and invigorate the mind, body, and create energy.
Each class will highlight on Asanas (Physical Poses), Pranayama (Breathing Practices), Deep Relaxation, and brief Meditation.
The classes will focus on Joint Freeing Exercises to help with Arthritis and Yoga for Stronger Bones to help with Osteoporosis.
Guidelines for practicing Yoga
1. Yoga is done on empty stomach so no food for at least 3 hours before the yoga class. You can drink water, tea or coffee.
2. Please wear comfortable clothing.
3. Need a yoga mat and if you have a yoga strap that is helpful.
4. Please check your devices and see the volumes and the video cameras are working. Please keep the setting at MUTE during the class.
5. Log in 5-10 minutes before the class.

Madhu, I have loved your yoga classes! You have created a welcoming and peaceful environment in all of your classes. You demonstrate everything clearly and it is easy to follow along. Each class is different, yet with familiar poses. I also love the breathing exercises we do! Truly love taking yoga classes from you!
Thank you Madhu for your wonderful zoom yoga sessions. While I have practiced a little bit in the past, you are very clear on your instruction and making certain we are not doing anything we should not be doing…and I also enjoy the breathing exercises.
I have been doing Madhu’s yoga classes for several years. Her combination of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and stretching is lively but calm and refreshing. Since our zoom groups are small, she manages to individualize the poses and stretches for each of us.
After years of chronic back pain, I have found that by doing yoga twice a week, my back pain has vanished, and at age 77, I am able to take long walks and work in the garden again. In addition, yoga with Madhu has helped me maintain flexibility in my whole body and strengthened my arms and core muscles. A big bonus is getting to know Madhu who is a lovely, interesting person.
I am truly appreciative of the wonderful yoga lessons that I have been attending on Zoom. You are a wonderful patient and kind teacher. I’m definitely benefiting from it. Thanks so much.
Even though she doesn’t come to my home, I go right next door to hers. I have benefitted greatly from her class. She has such a soothing voice that it makes the meditation part extra good. When my daughter was home, we did a class together and she loved Madhu’s class too. She’s been taken yoga since college and is now 36.
